DELIGHTED organisers of Wolverley Beer Festival have hailed the success of their second annual fundraising event.

Hundreds of real ale enthusiasts visited Wolverley Memorial Hall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (September 23-25) to enjoy a choice of more than 40 beers and ciders as well as live music from a number of bands.

The “Wolverley Wobbler” ale, which was named in a competition held in the run up to the festival, ran out on Saturday afternoon - after proving to be a smash hit with punters.

This fundraising event was run by the Wolverley Memorial Project, aimed at the regeneration of the memorial site for the benefit of today's community and future generations

Chairman Richard Millner, said: “It was great to see so many people turnout; we believe around 700 over the three days, with many people coming back for more.

“The whole of the community was represented, both young and old, all enjoying a great time. We had a fantastic team of local volunteers who worked tirelessly to create a fantastic event.”

Organisers were also delighted with feedback on social media including comments such as “Great Beer Fest again!! You have put Wolverley well and truly on the map!!” and “Fantastic time had by all of us on Friday & Saturday at the Beer Fest, looking forward to next year...”

The festival was the second for Wolverley, following a hugely successful event last year and the organisers are already planning a festival next year, with the intention of this becoming an annual event.

Their next event is a Handmade Christmas Craft Fair, on Sunday, December 11, 11am – 5pm in Wolverley Memorial Hall.
