MORE than 100 canines enjoyed a big walk in Wyre Forest to help raise vital funds for an animal charity.

The RSPCA Big Walkies event was held at Wyre Forest Visitor Centre at Callow Hill on Saturday (September 25) and saw people turn out in force with their beloved pets.

And their efforts saw a huge amount of money raised for the Wyre Forest branch of the charity with organisers anticipating hitting a total of £1,500.

Janis Borley, from the RSPCA Wyre Forest branch, said: “The event was a great success, over 100 dogs participated in the walk and everybody seemed to have a good time and want to take part in next year’s.

“A big thank you for everyone who attended and supported and making the day a success.

“This included Vale Veterinary Group who were on hand just in case; all volunteers on the day - who we couldn’t have done it without; Tracey our assistant manager from the Stourport charity shop and their volunteers and the team at the Shuttle for their continued support.”
