A KIDDERMINSTER woman who will trek across the Sahara in November is holding a fundraising Autumn Ramble this weekend.

Rachel Green has organised the six-mile Autumn Ramble on Sunday (October 2) from 9.30am, for a 10am start. It will start and finish in the car park of the Wolverley Lock Pub, in Wolverley Road.

Rachel will be trekking across the Sahara in aid of the HoneyRose Foundation and in memory of her grandmother, Doreen, who died from lung cancer in 2015.

She said: “The ramble is a six-mile circular route along the canal – to Cookley, Kinver, and then back to Wolverley.

“People will get wristbands when they have registered and anyone who shows their wristband in the pub afterwards and is ordering food, 20 per cent of the bill will be donated to the charity – plus all money raised on the day will go to the charity.

“I am really looking forward to it and I hope we get a good turn out – and we can have a lovely autumn walk.

“My Sahara trek is only six weeks away now. I’m getting nervous now, but I am also looking forward to it.”

The HoneyRose Foundation is the only UK charity which helps grant special wishes to adults, aged 40 and over, who are terminally ill.

Rachel has set up a JustGiving page - justgiving.com/Rachs-Sahara-trek2016.

Entrance to the Autumn Ramble is £5 for adults and children under 16 are free.
