YOUNGSTERS at a Kidderminster nursery are busy making Christmas cards in support of Kidderminster's Library's Christmas Card Appeal.

Each year children at Little Trinity Nursery take part in the appeal and create unique Christmas cards, which are then distributed by the library to elderly and housebound in the district, along with a selection of library books to read and enjoy during the festive season.

Gaynor Carter, nursery manager, said: "The children love to do anything creative and this seasonal activity enables them to use tinsel, paint, collage materials and, of course, glitter to make their very own, special Christmas card."

Using a whole host of creative skills the children now have a number of reindeer and snowman Christmas creations.

Miss Carter added: "The annual Christmas Card Appeal is such a worthwhile cause, helping spread a little joy within the local community and with those people who may be on their own this Christmas.

"The activity also helps develop the children's fine motor skills as each child is encouraged to write their name on the inside of the Christmas card."
