A POST Office refurbishment could see Spennells residents have access to services for an extra 33 hours a week.

The Post Office will open a new modernised service in Warbler Place, in Kidderminster. The service, which will launch at 1pm on Monday, February 6, will be provided from two modern screened serving positions.

The service will be available during the store's opening hours, between 8am and 8pm Monday to Sunday - an increase of an extra 33 hours a week which will ensure the branch is more convenient for residents.

Residents and small businesses will be able to access a wide range of services including international parcels, special delivery, local collect and home shopping returns, cash withdrawals, mortgages and car tax service.

Spennells Post Office will close at 5.30pm on Thursday, January 19, for the refurbishment to take place. During the short period of closure, services may be accessed at the Burcher Green Post Office, in Burcher Green, and Kidderminster Post Office, in Vicars Street.

Sue Whittall, Post Office area manager, said: "We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

"We are confident that this vibrant new style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

"This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future."
