AN ACTOR and military antiques and collectables expert from Kidderminster has set up a new monthly fair in the town for enthusiasts.

The first of the Craig Leonard Militaria & Vintage Collectables Fairs will be held at the Gilt Edge Social Club, in Zortech Avenue, Kidderminster, from 9am until 1.30pm on Sunday (January 15).

The event will incorporate 20th century collectables, a range of vintage stalls selling militaria, home front medals, coins, toys and clothing, as well as re-enactment and living history stalls.

Mr Leonard, who has been involved in running military re-enactments and shows all over the country for more than 30 years, said a fair would be held at the Gilt Edge Social Club once a month.

He also currently runs the monthly Wyre Forest Auction held at Wolverley Memorial Hall in Shatterford Lane, which sees traders and dealers from all over the country attending looking for bargains.

His expertise has also seen him land acting roles on major films such as Atonement and Cockneys Versus Zombies to BBC dramas including Jonathan Norrell and Mr Strange. He has also worked in costume and advised on set.

Mr Leonard said: ā€œIā€™m hoping to involve more than 40 stalls for a monthly event used by living history enthusiasts to local film makers as a source for props, for collectors looking for that missing item to dealers looking for the next lot of stock.ā€
