A SPECIAL service will be held next weekend at Wyre Forest Crematorium in honour of Mother's Day.

The service, Mother's Day Memories. will take place on Saturday, March 25, from 3pm at the crematorium, off Minster Road.

It has been organised by the Reverend Alex Vaccaro, associate priest with the Kidderminster Ismere group of parishes.

There will be a service of remembrance with an opportunity for prayer, reflection and thanksgiving, and this will be followed by refreshments in the form of afternoon tea.

Revd Vaccaro said: "Although Mothering Sunday is a time for celebration, it can also be a poignant and sad time for those remembering lost loved ones, whether mothers or children, and for those who were unable to be mothers themselves.

"I hope the service will be an opportunity to gather together to reflect and it is open to all who would value a way to mark this special time.

"I am very grateful to Wyre Forest Crematorium for their support and their willingness to try this new service."

The service will give a chance to acknowledge loss, to recall good memories and pray for the healing of relationships that were less than perfect.

Anyone is welcome, but are asked to confirm attendance by calling 01562 740850.
