A BEWDLEY catering firm is celebrating after scooping an award from TV star and businessman Theo Paphitis.

Paisley Flour Catering picked up the #SBS (Small Business Sunday) Twitter Award from Theo Paphitis at the winner’s conference held at the International Conference Centre, Birmingham.

The company provides catering for weddings, fine dining events and VIP parties

Theo set up the SBS initiative in 2010 to help support small businesses and raise awareness of their work.

Paisley Flour Catering tweeted him on January 22 and this resulted in a retweet from Theo to over 500,000 followers on the 23d January.

Owner Emma Passey said: “My team and I are very proud to win this award. It’s given my company a huge boost to our Twitter account, with support from fellow #SBS winners.

“We’ve recently launched a brand new website alongside our promotional video featuring brief extracts of events we’ve covered throughout 2016.”

Emma said she grew up with an interest in cooking, learning the basics from her two grandmothers and creating her own dinner parties for her family.

She launched Paisley Flour Catering in 2012, having been a chef for more than 15 years.

She added: “I am a massive believer in ‘you eat with your eyes first’ so it’s equally important for me to make sure it looks as good as it tastes.”

Theo Paphitis said: “I admire people who have passion and energy. I have been lucky in business and I am keen now to spread goodwill to others.”
