A 12-DAY beer festival is set to bring award-winning beers from the UK and overseas to Stourbridge, Bewdley and Kidderminster.

The festival is running from Wednesday March 22 until Sunday April 2 at The Chequers Inn in Stourbridge, The Penny Black in Bull Ring, Kidderminster and the George Hotel in Load Street, Bewdley.

Simon Taylor, manager of The Chequers Inn, said: “We are promising our customers a superb range of award-winning ales, including some great beers from overseas and many others from brewers across the UK.

“The festival will be the perfect way for real ale enthusiasts to enjoy a range of excellent beers over 12 days.”

Participating pubs will be serving up to 20 beers from Italy, Brazil, Holland and the USA as well as the UK.

Each of the overseas brewers has won awards for their beer in their respective country and include Back Garden from the USA, Mild the Gap from Italy and Burton Pale Ale from Brazil.

The UK beers include, Salopian Lemon Dream which was named National Champion Speciality Beer in 2012 and Mauldons Blackberry Porter which won the award in 2016.

Several of the beers contain unusual flavours including, blackberries, coffee, lemon and lemongrass.

All beers in The Chequers Inn will be priced at £2.19 a pint, The Penny Black and George hotel will charge £2.09 to £2.49.

Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third-of-a-pint glasses for the price of a pint.
