AN EVENT to select Stourport’s new carnival queen and consort will be held in June as organisers gear up for this year’s bash.

Stourport Civic Hall will host the Carnival Queen, Princess and Rosebud choosing on Sunday, June 11 from 1pm onwards.

The lucky winners will replace this year’s consort of Queen Jodie Davies with Princess Hannah Hawkins-Long and Rosebud Chloe Guise.

The Rosebud competition will be held at 1pm and entrants should be aged between five and nine on carnival day and must live in Stourport.

The Princess competition is at 3pm and entrants should be aged between 10 and 15 on carnival day and must live in Stourport.

And this year’s Queen will be selected from 5pm and entrants should be aged between 16 and 25 and live within a 10 mile radius of Stourport.

Each of the winners will receive flowers and a monetary prize on the day and will have dresses of their choice specially made for them to wear on carnival day, which is on Saturday September 2, when they will be officially crowned and take part in the weekends activities.
