SUPERSTAR singer Peter Andre met with an award-winning baby photographer based near Stourport to learn how she lulls newborns to sleep within minutes.

The singer, famed for his 1996 single Mysterious Girl, visited "baby whisperer" Sarah Deakin – a photographer based in Yarhampton, near Stourport.

Accompanied by his wife, Emily, he has been meeting with parents around the country as part of an npower Parenting Super Powers campaign.

For the couple's third visit, they met with Mrs Deakin at her Pea Green Boat Photography Studio to get an insight into how her 'super power' works.

The photographer, aged 37, said: "I just thought it would be really fun and an amazing experience.

"They were just so completely normal and down to earth. The whole day was great."

During the visit, Mrs Deakin divulged how she uses background music and motion to help get babies to sleep – before picturing the peaceful infants as keepsakes for their parents.

"I learnt the trick to putting babies to sleep out of sheer necessity," she said.

"When I started out as a baby photographer, I’ll admit it was hard and I rarely got the shots I needed.

"Babies usually settle better in a noisy environment. I have found that lots of talking, background music and motion sends them off.

"I talk loudly, play music and move the babies around a lot, while reassuring them with lots of shushing noises and white noise. This combination seems to work for me."

Mr Andre said: "It was amazing to meet Sarah and to see how she has managed to achieve the impossible. It’s truly fascinating the results that come from her super power.

"Not only can she get babies to sleep in under five minutes but she also takes beautiful pictures too.

"I’m so excited to be meeting other parents across Britain and look forward to celebrating their one-of-a-kind super powers."

Mrs Andre, who is a mother-of-two, added: "Having just had a baby myself, Sarah’s super power is most definitely useful during those long nights when baby just won’t go to sleep.

"It’s remarkable how great she is with the little ones – it’s almost like she is a baby whisperer. I am looking forward to practising the technique on Theo."

As part of its campaign, npower is looking to champion remarkable parents and celebrate their skills.
