A STOURPORT store played host to an evening of fashion in aid of a Wyre Forest charity.

Stourport M&Co hosted the fashion event on March 14, raising £730 for family support charity, Home-Start Wyre Forest.

The evening was arranged by the organisation's director, Tracy Wilkes, who also home visits for Home-Start - many years after receiving support from the scheme herself.

She said: "After receiving support from Home-Start Wyre Forest for just under two years, I appreciate the different our scheme makes to families - with their support I have managed to turn my life around and use my experience to help others.

"I am extremely proud of Home-Start Wyre Forest and what we stand for and will always be grateful for the positive impact it has had on my family."

Belinda Darby, Home-Start manager, added: "Tracy is an inspirational person who has been through difficult times and so understands the value of Home-Start support as well as anyone could.

"Her commitment to arranging this event to raise funds for our service, in addition to her directorship and home visiting for the scheme, is an amazing effort to support the continued work of the organisation."

Home-Start Wyre Forest supported 471 children in 234 families last year through a team of 108 volunteers and six staff. Fifteen per cent of the volunteer team are previous service users and Home-Start actively encourage parents who have received support for more than a year previously, to consider whether they would be able to become a Home-Start volunteer.
