A MAN was taken to hospital with a head injury after he was hit by a car in Stourport.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police were called to Burlish Crossing at around 12.10pm on Monday (March 24) to reports of a crash between a car and a pedestrian.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham.

A spokesman from West Mercia Police confirmed that crash involved a pedestrian and a blue Ford Focus. 

A spokesman from WMAS said: "The pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 50s, was treated for a head injury, a suspected pelvic injury and minor injuries to his leg.

"He was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance.

"The air crew travelled with the patient on the ambulance, to continue treatment en-route."

An ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.
