YOUNGSTERS will get the chance to make a boat, plane or rocket that is powered by solar energy at Worcestershire County Museum next week.

Creative Construction will run at the museum, based at Hartlebury Castle, from Tuesday (August 15), until Thursday, August 17.

Event organiser, Pippa Ashmore, has spent time working for the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales - which looks at ways of sustaining a greener lifestyle.

Using skills learned there, she be offering children visiting the museum a chance to create a boat, rocket, plane or windmill, affix a solar panel and propeller and watch the sun power the mini motor.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy using building blocks and other construction games and creating a tube house to take home. There is also a Creative Construction trail around the museum all week.

Activity days cost £2 per child for the day's activities, after the normal admission fee.
