A KIND donation from the Kidderminster and District Lions Club will help Bewdley Youth Cafe undergo a complete refurbishment.

The club donated £1,500 to help towards the refurbishment of the youth cafe - which is taking place throughout August, ready for when the schools go back in September.

Ron Cross, Lions president, said that the club was pleased to be able to help the Youth Cafe continue its good work with the young people in Bewdley.

The cafe, which is based in Load Street, is open five days a week before and after school, providing breakfast and internet access.

In May, Councillor Derek Killingworth, who sits on Bewdley Town Council and is a trustee for Bewdley Youth Cafe, told the Shuttle they were proposing to completely revamp the internal layout of the cafe to give more room for the young people and to completely redecorate internally and externally.

Cllr Killingworth added: ""The refurbishment is sadly overdue.

"When it is done, it will provide more space for the young people and a more pleasant interior for their use and enjoyment."
