RESIDENTS living at a new multi-million pound retirement development in Stourport will receive around-the-clock to support from a care provider, Bromford has announced.

The Midlands-based housing association have announced that they will be partnering with Radis Community Care at their new £10.5m School Gardens retirement living scheme in Tan Lane.

Following the award of the contract, Radis will now provide tailored packages to customers who require care on a 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week basis. As well as tailored care packages, locally based staff will provide an emergency response service and additional ancillary services such as assisting residents with shopping, laundry and dog walking.

Helen Shields, Bromford's retirement living business manager, said: "Radis offer very bespoke services tailored to the individual which fits with our own ethos of developing a trusting relationship with each and every Bromford customer.

"Radis already work well with us at another retirement living scheme in Lichfield so we are confident this will be a successful partnership which will ultimately help more customers stay independent in their own homes.

"We believe retirement living schemes like School Gardens, with its array of on-site facilities and optional care and support packages, offer people a far better alternative than residential care."

Paula Hogarth, Radis Community Care's regional director for Wales and West, added: "We are really excited to be working in partnership with Bromford at this fantastic new state of the art facility in the heart of Stourport.

"We are an established family-run care provider and pride ourselves on delivering high quality care to those people we support."

Construction at the site is progressing well and scaffolding on the historic school building - where Tan Lane Infants School stood for decades from 1897 - is beginning to come down following its renovation.

Overall, School Gardens will deliver 60 apartments for people aged 55 and over, as well as a cafe bistro, lounge, activity studio, gym and hair and beauty salon. The range of one and two bedroom apartments include options for both rent and buy.

School Gardens will open in spring 2018 and prospective residents are asked to call 01299 393456 or visit bromford.co.uk/schoolgardens for more information.
