AFTER being alerted by a member of the public, police have seized a cannabis plant from a public park in Cleobury Mortimer.
A man walking through Catherton Park on October 12, noticed a strange plant growing among some other plants with a strong aroma.
Believing it may be a cannabis plant, he called West Mercia Police and reported it.
Police officrs were able to positively identify it as a cannabis plant after the man sent a photo of the plant.
Following the identification, officers attended and removed the plant - which will be booked in and destroyed.
A spokesman from West Mercia Police said: "A search of the park area did not identify any other cannabis plants and it is not thought that this was part of some criminal enterprise to cultivate cannabis."
