BEAVER scouts in Kidderminster picked up some useful skills following a visit and demonstrations from paramedics.

West Midlands Ambulance Service staff visited KD1 Sea Scout Beaver Colony to give an insight into the vital work they do as well as help youngsters achieve their first aid badge.

The paramedics covered bandaging, CPR, the recovery position, what to say when you dial 999 and treating burns.

The beavers were also shown around the ambulance during the visit.

A spokesman for the Beavers said: “They all thoroughly enjoyed it and no doubt learned many great skills. I believe the ambulance staff and leaders enjoyed it too.”
