SIZZLING sausage and bacon tempted scores of diners to the annual Big Breakfast in Hartlebury on Saturday (March 17), raising £900 for Cancer Research UK.

Full English and continental breakfasts were dished up by Trefor Cook, of Bliss Gate-based TS Hospitality and his partner Pam Jarvie, supporters of the charity’s Wyre Forest fundraising committee.

Committee founder and co-ordinator Margaret Griffin said: “The event is part of Britain’s Biggest Breakfast campaign to boost funds for research to develop treatments and cures for cancer.

“We were thrilled that so many braved the freezing temperatures to come along to what is a good social get-together in the village hall.

“A big thanks must go to Trefor and Pam, committee members and other supporters who helped – they were certainly kept busy.”

The committee is staging its popular Gardeners’ Question Time at the Hallmark Hotel Stourport Manor on Thursday (March 22) at 7.30pm with entertaining duo Paul Cook, from Cook’s Nurseries and BBC Hereford and Worcester gardening expert Reg Moule on the panel. Tickets are £7 on the door.
