BODENHAM Arboretum will be a plant hunter’s paradise at Easter when a popular event returns later this month.

The ninth annual Plant Hunter’s Fair will be held at the arboretum on Saturday, March 31 with 19 specialist nurseries booked to attend.

Among them will be five Royal Horticultural Society gold medal winners as well as three nurseries new to the event.

A spokesman for the Arboretum said: “At this time of year, the nurseries will come laden with flowering bulbs and shrubs to provide instant colour, but also lots of later flowering plants to get planted now for colour into the summer and beyond.

“Now’s the time think ahead and plan that dream border for your garden. The nursery folk are on hand again to give honest, straightforward advice on choosing and growing the right plants for your garden.”

Entry to the fair, which will be based next to the main arboretum entrance, is free while ample parking will be available.

Entry to the rest of the 156-acre arboretum with over 3000 types of trees and shrubs is optional at normal prices. For more information, visit www.planthuntersfairs.co.uk
