A HEARTBROKEN Stourport 12-year-old and her family are urging people to help in the search for their beloved pet dog that is believed to have been stolen nearly a month ago.

Bobby, who is a white male West Highland Terrier and Shih Tzu cross breed, went missing from Martley Road in the Areley Kings area of Stourport on May 29, leaving owner Cerys Jones and family desperately searching for their lost pet.

West Mercia Police have appealed for information and the Kidderminster and District branch of the RSPCA have shared posters of the missing dog on their social media.

Bobby vanished from his garden home in the early evening, where family believe that their eight- month-old pet may have been taken, given his small size.

Cerys' father Kim and grandmother Cynthia immediately contacted DogLost, a missing dog’s network, as well as creating the Get Bobby Home Facebook group to seek help from the Wyre Forest community.

Mrs Jones said: “All the family are dog lovers and we are all really upset about this.”

“Bobby is a major part of Cerys’ life.”

“She hasn’t slept well since, has been crying throughout the night and has skipped Judo sessions to look for Bobby.

“She walked with us last night looking for him and on one day walked over 9 km putting up posters and door knocking.

“This little girl has gone out of her way to get her dog back.”

Her cousin set up a Go Fund Me page to fund resources to find the dog and for possible therapy, which has so far received £95 in donations.

Potential sightings of Bobby have been made, with one witness seeing a dog lured into a red Kia Sorrento by a couple of men on June 14, with other sightings being made on Minster Road and St Michael’s churchyard.

Mrs Jones added: “I am humbled by how much people are willing to do.

“From now it’s just about following up on leads.

“We will not stop until Bobby is home.”
