kidderminstershuttle.co.uk - the online sister to the Shuttle/Times & News - is beefing up its coverage of business and you can play a part.

The Business is the new online section where we will carry a range of news and views about business, whether local to Wyre Forest, national or even global, if it is of interest or could impact on your business.

Shuttle/Times & News chief reporter, Peter McMillan, is co-ordinating the improved online service.

“kidderminstershuttle.co.uk has pioneered online initiatives such as Xtra, its increasingly popular leisure read and now we want to enhance what the Shuttle/Times & News can offer online by improving coverage of business matters,” he said.

“Space, unfortunately, limits how many business stories we can print in our newspaper but that isn’t a problem on our website. That means we can include any amount of stories online.

“The Business will be a platform for stories about businesses, across all sectors, ranging from big orders won to launches of innovative products and from awards earned to new staff recruited. The scope is almost endless.

“One word of warning - The Business isn’t a platform for blatant advertising dressed up as news. My colleagues in the advertising department can explain the advertising opportunities The Business will provide.”

Peter added: “We also want The Business to be interactive. As well as your business news, we also want your views on business issues. The Business will include and welcomes comment pieces from people in business about things that matter to them.

“Those could range from interest rate cuts to recruitment and skills problems, as well as red tape and the impact of health and safety legislation, to quote just a few examples. Whether you are a sole trader, chief executive of a big company or chair a trade association, we want to hear from you.”

Peter went on: “The Business won’t be po-faced in its coverage of business life. Sure, we’ll take the serious issues seriously but there will be some light relief too.

“A good recent example was a survey of the 10 most annoying sounds in the office. Munching of crisps came top in that one, with the sound of the boss’s voice fourth. That’s the kind of water cooler chat material that will also figure on The Business so, even if you aren’t at the cutting edge of running a company, you might find something of interest.”

So now, it is over to you.
