A DRIVER has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a road collision in which a young father died.
Scott Irwin, 23, of Cookley, a front seat passenger in a white Rover 216, sustained fatal injuries in the collision with a white Ford Transit van which happened at about 12.15am on Monday, March 31, at the junction of the A451 Minster Road and Oldington Lane, Kidderminster.
Three other people, a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old youth, both rear passengers in the Rover, and an 18-year-old man, the driver of the Rover, received serious injuries in the collision.
A 24-year-old man, the driver of the white Ford Transit van, was arrested at the time on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was charged yesterday afternoon. He is due to appear before Kidderminster magistrates on Thursday.
The driver of the Rover was arrested on May 31, also on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, but no further action is being taken against him.
