Stourport War Memorial upgrade

STOURPORT’S War Memorial will be upgraded and restored if plans by Stourport Town Council tonight go ahead.
Councillors unanimously agreed that the memorial needed cleaning “urgently” before any further deterioration could take place.
They also agreed that the steps to the memorial should be replaced with a ramp to allow wheelchair access.
An estimate of £3,500 was quoted by an engraving company to carry out the main part of the work “in situ” and members agreed in principle to allocating council funds for the project.
