A TRIAL date has been fixed for a case involving six alleged brothels in Worcester.

Six Chinese men and a woman have appeared before a judge after police raids in six towns and cities.

Qiang Xu, 44, of Middle Street, Worcester and 37-year-old Wei Zhang, of Comberton Road, Kidderminster, have pleaded guilty to assisting in the management of brothels.

Two other defendants, 45-year-old Zhi Zhou, of High Street, Stone, Staffordshire and Ai Lou, 47, of Church Road, Stourbridge, pleaded guilty to similar charges today at Worcester Crown Court.

Three others face a variety of charges ranging from trafficking in sexual exploitation to controlling prostitution.

Those facing trial on July 13 are: Ziqian Lui, 24 and Bochao Nan, 26, both of Harvington Road, Weoley Castle, Birmingham and Cheng Su, 41, of Weoley Castle Road, Birmingham.

All defendants were remanded in custody. Those who pleaded guilty will be sentenced after the three-week trial at Hereford Crown Court before Judge Daniel Pearce-Higgins QC.

The allegations are that Worcester brothels were run in Barbourne Walk, Middle Street, Lower Chestnut Street, Checketts Lane, Bromyard Road and Wood Terrace.

Others were said to operate from Comberton Road, Kidderminster, Willes Road and Rugby Road, Leamington Spa, St Paul's Road, Cheltenham, Seymore Court, Islington Row, Birmingham and Walker House, Barker Butts Lane, Coventry.
