POLICE are trying to trace a lorry involved in an incident near Stourport during which a car left the road and crashed into a tree.
It happened at 3.30pm last Thursday on the B4194 Switchback road between Bewdley and Stourport by the car park entrance to Ribbesford Wood.
It involved a silver-coloured Mercedes being driven towards Bewdley and a white Iveco 7.5 tonne lorry which was travelling the other way.
The Mercedes left the road and crashed into a tree but the lorry did not stop at the scene and police now want help to trace the vehicle and its driver.
PC Darren Broom said: “Fortunately the driver of the car, who was alone, was not injured but we still need to establish what happened and trace the lorry involved.
“There was a steady stream of traffic along there at the time and it’s quite likely someone may have seen this incident or noticed the vehicles beforehand.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen where the lorry went when it reached the Stourport end of the Switchback after the incident.”
Witnesses or anyone with information should call PC Broom on 0300 333 3000.
