COLLECTIONS in Kidderminster and Stourport for Marie Curie’s Daffodil Appeal raised £3,686.

More than £1,000 was raised in Morrisons in Kidderminster on March 3 alone.

The rest was donated by generous shoppers on Stourport High Street and Kidderminster town centre.

The cash is enough to pay for 184 hours of nursing care to families of those with terminal illnesses. Across Worcestershire, the Daffodil Appeal was £9,000 up on last year.

Volunteer fundraiser for Marie Curie, Debbie Mound said: “On behalf of Marie Curie, I would like to say a huge thanks to all our volunteer collectors and to the local people who have so generously donated. Thanks for your help in raising awareness for our cause.”
