Preparations underway for Bewdley Carnival

PREPARATIONS for this year’s Bewdley Carnival are in full swing.

The extravaganza will be held on Saturday, June 16 and will kick off at 1pm when the procession leaves Hales Park for its journey through the town to the carnival field, in Stourport Road.

The parade will be led by the four Bewdley princesses - Lauren Watkiss, 11, Libby Hawkswell, 8, Kayla Botfield, 9 and Daisy Hughes, 5.

Joseph Peace and his fire stunts spectacular will be the main attraction on the carnival field. He will be performing fire stunts in the arena including leaping through a wall of fire on a BMX bike.

He will be joined by his wife Tsubi Du, who is an experienced entertainer, stilt walker and costume designer.

Also on the field will be Severn Side school of Dance, ferret racing, face painting, stalls and a fun fair.

Anyone interested in having a stall on the day should call 01299 401841.
