A FORMER Wyre Forest MP has paid tribute to the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire Michael Brinton who lost his battle with cancer.
Mr Brinton, who was also a former chairman of Kidderminster carpet firm Brintons, died on April 23.
Anthony Coombs, who was MP in the district from 1987 to 1997, said: “We used to meet regularly for lunch at Brintons and Michael was always charming, informative and where necessary challenging on Government policy.
“He was the epitome of all that is good in an Englishman and was the bedrock upon which our traditions and communities are based.”
