See Sam’s video reports online

Budding film-maker: Sam Cook.
A JOURNALISM student from Hartlebury has completed a work experience assignment with a difference for The Shuttle.
Sam Cook, who finishes his degree at Southampton Solent University this summer, has created three video packages for the Shuttle website.
The films were all sourced in Wyre Forest and cover a local microbrewery, the controversial price of fuel, and views on whether it’s possible to swap sun, sea and sand for a local holiday in these difficult economic times.
The reports include interviews with Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier; the owners of Callow Fuels in Chaddesley Corbett; and Hartlebury real ale brewer John Farmer; Jo Haycock, manager of Bewdley Museum.
Sam, 21, who has lived in Hartlebury all his life and attended Hartlebury First, Burlish Middle and Stourport High schools , said: “I’m eventually looking to ply my trade in the broadcast industry, either in TV or radio, or both!
“I love to cover features as much as going out to find hard news.”
He added: “I also love listening to Radio 2. It has a perfect mix of music, entertainment and current affairs. If Jeremy Vine fancies a few weeks off, I wouldn’t mind stepping in!”
Shuttle editor Clive Joyce said: “We were unable to offer a conventional work experience placement to Sam, but this taste of the working environment was much more imaginitive and proved worthwhile for us and him.
“He sourced all his own material and showed that he is motivated and creative. He was working alone and did not once set foot in our office, but he showed he could be relied upon to get the job done by using his own initiative.”
We ask readers to note that the petrol prices video was filmed on April 11 when fuel prices had gone up. The prices at the Chaddesley Corbett filling station featured are now 139.9p and 142.9p for petrol and diesel respectively.
