Six charged with conspiracy to burgle businesses

SIX men have been charged with conspiracy to burgle by Kidderminster detectives investigating 56 break-ins at businesses across Worcestershire - including six in Wyre Forest - and four other counties.

The West Mercia Police investigation follows burglaries at business premises including golf clubs and garden centres, with property worth hundreds of thousands of pounds stolen.

Seven arrests have been made during the past week including a woman who was released and no further action is being taken against her. Police say more arrests are planned.

Terrence Hodgkins, 35, of Whittall Drive East, Kidderminster and Jamie Worrall, 26, of Masons Close, Halesowen were arrested on Tuesday last week.

They appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates Court last Thursday charged with conspiracy to burgle at various locations nationally between June 1 and October 30 last year. They were remanded in custody to appear before Worcester Crown Court on November 26.

Jordan Taylor, 21, of Beecher Road, Halesowen, was arrested last Thursday and appeared before Kidderminster magistrates on Friday facing the same conspiracy to burgle charge and another charge of stealing cable between August 1 and August 31 this year.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on December 3.

Two other Kidderminster men, aged 42 and 25, were arrested last Friday and charged with conspiracy to burgle. They were released on police bail to appear before Kidderminster magistrates on September 13.

Another Kidderminster man, 20, who was arrested yesterday and also charged with conspiracy to burgle, was due to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court today.
