14 jobs at risk at brick firm

JOBS are under threat at a brick manufacturers in Hartlebury.
About 14 jobs could be cut at Wienerberger Ltd at the Hartlebury and Waresley brickworks on the Hartlebury Industrial Estate, as the firm reviews its production “in light of current market conditions and the UK’s unprecedented low levels of construction”.
Harald Schwarzmayr, managing director, said: “It is likely there will be a reduction in production volume at Hartlebury, which may result in approximately 14 job losses.
“We have now entered a period of consultation with trade unions and employees and hope to minimise the impact through redeployment of staff and a voluntary redundancy programme.”
