A KIDDERMINSTER Mini fanatic has celebrated his car’s 45 year history.

Brian Brickstock, of Bridgnorth Road, has owned the classic red Mini Traveller with wood for 29 years.

He recently discovered the car was 45 years old this month and set about tracking down its original owner who, he found out, was Elizabeth Marsh of Brierley Hill meat company Marsh and Baxters who lived at Dunsley Hall, Kinver.

Mr Brickstock, 71, a member of Renegade Minis Fun Club, who meet during the first Thursday of each month at the Whittington Inn on the A449, said: “I have kept it in as near mint condition as I can get it.

“I still take it places, we went to a show in Utoxetor and won first prize. I had it stolen in 1987, someone had dumped it in West Bromwich because it ran out of fuel. We have also had someone run into the back of it but got it restored.”

Mr Brickstock’s vintage vehicle also made an appearance at the Wolverley Carnival earlier this month.
