Man arrested after Kidderminster canal robbery

A MAN has been arrested following a robbery in which the victim was thrown into a Kidderminster canal.

He was arrested yesterday on suspicion of robbery and is currently in custody at Kidderminster Police Station assisting officers with their inquiries.

His arrest relates to an incident, which started outside Tribe nightclub in Green Street in the early hours of Sunday, September 30.

Two groups were in confrontation, which led to one of the groups being chased to the canal towpath.

A man in his early 20s was assaulted on the towpath, and had his iPhone 4, worth £250, stolen from him before he was thrown into the canal. He was then pulled out by another member of the group.
