Mr Lawley the Chair of DAWF attended the Wyre Forest Community Consultation forum on Wednesday 16th June at the Music room in Kidderminster town hall.
The idea of the forum is to act as a critical friend providing advice and feed back in order to improve service delivery, policies, practices, procedures and equality impact assessments.
However on arrival Mr Lawley discovered that new barriers had been placed in the disabled parking bay.
Mr Lawley said “I went to park my park but I couldn’t open the car door!
This type of development is very disappointing when the council promotes a No Barriers award scheme to encourage good practice toward disabled people.
Mr Lawley also said “I raised the issue at the meeting and pressed for the immediate removal of the barriers.”
