VOLUNTEER roles and fundraising opportunities are available at Kemp Hospice for anyone looking to make a difference this year.

The roles will help support people with life limiting illnesses as well as helping the community cope with bereavement.

Just a couple of hours a month can be a huge help to Kemp.

The first idea is working in one of the four Kemp shops as the retail operation is a valuable revenue stream and helps to boost income.

Training will be provided for shop volunteers who will just need enthusiasm and a helpful, approachable attitude.

Kemp also runs fundraising activities throughout the year, a few of which can help to keep fit.

A 12-hour swimathon is taking place on January 27 and a Zumba dance party will be held on February 23.

Another idea is for fundraisers to set themselves a challenge such a parachute jump, trekking the Sahara Desert or cycling from London to Paris. Kemp holds these once in a lifetime opportunities throughout the year.

Kemp also needs marshals at its annual Midnight Walk, Santa Fun Run and Halloween walk.

A final idea from Kemp is for anyone with specialist skills or experience such as complementary therapy, hairdressing, counselling, gardening or arts and crafts who could help patients and families at the hospice.
