FORMER Wyre Forest District Council Chairman Stephen Clee has donated nearly £5,000 to Kemp Hospice.

Conservative councillor Mr Clee raised the money over his two years as chairman of the council.

He held charity events including two charity dinners at La Brasserie, a carol service at St Mary’s and All Saints Church, in Kidderminster, and another at Wyre Forest House.

A quiz at Wyre Forest House and a Comic Relief Bake off in March also helped to boost funds.

Mr Clee said: “I have been delighted over the last two years to have Kemp as my charity as chairman of Wyre Forest District Council.

“I would like to thank all of the people who have contributed and supported my fund raising events which has seen me raise just under £5,000.”

Ele Millward, community fundraiser at Kemp Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Councillor Stephen Clee for all the time and effort that he has put into various fundraising events and initiatives and to all those who have given so generously.

“It is an amazing amount of money to raise and this will really help Kemp Hospice to continue providing care and support to people in the Wyre Forest and surrounding areas who are experiencing difficult times.”
