MARKS and Spencer in Kidderminster has named Kemp Hospice as its charity partner for 2014.

The Weavers Wharf store has pledged its support by organising fundraising activities including sponsored bag packing, an in-store cycle challenge and a charity leg wax, which will take place over the next few months.

Store manager Claire Moore said: “As the Kemp Hospice is so local to the M&S Kidderminster store, we have heard of the wonderful work that they do in the community to support those living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

"It’s vital that they get all the help they need to meet the huge target of £940,000, which is needed just to keep the hospice going each year.

"So, by choosing Kemp Hospice as our charity partner, we hope to play a small role in helping to achieve their goal.”

Kemp Hospice provides specialist care and support to patients, families and carers in the Wyre Forest, who are dealing with life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Elena Bloomfield, business and community fundraiser at Kemp Hospice, said “We are really grateful that the staff at M&S Kidderminster have chosen Kemp Hospice as their charity partner for the year.

“It is support from businesses such as M&S that enables us to continue offering support and care to patients living with life limiting illnesses, their families and their carers. Our services are provided free of charge and delivered by our skilled clinical and support teams.”
