A STOURPORT theatre group have announced the winner of a competition it ran for children in Wyre Forest to design a poster for its pantomime.

The Monday Night Group launched the competition earlier this year for children under the age of 14 to design a Goldilocks and the Three Bears poster - the group’s 2015 pantomime.

The winning entry was designed by Rebecca Swann, 11, from Kidderminster.

Alan Williams, competition organiser, said: “Rebecca’s poster really captured the group’s imagination.

“It is bright and colourful and totally relevant to the title of the show - it is exactly what we were looking for when we launched the competition.”

The poster will be on display across the entire Wyre Forest area to publicise the production later in the year.

The group was formed in 1967 and performs an annual pantomime every January at the Civic Hall in Stourport.

Proceeds from the shows are donated to a number of local groups and organisations.

Earlier this year the proceeds from the 2014 production of Humpty Dumpty, which totalled more than £21,000, were distributed to more than 80 recipients.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears runs from January 23 to 31 and tickets are available now from the group’s website mondaynightgroup.org or the civic website thecivicstourport.co.uk
