Youngsters from the local Spennells Scout Group (KD9) took part in the National Tree O'Clock World record attempt on Saturday 5th December.
Planting over 50 trees between 11 0'clock and mid day at Rhydd Covert District Scout site, the youngsters had a great time when being part of the national event.
They dug holes & carefully planted saplings of Wild Cherry, Silver Birch, Holly and Hawthorn trees along part of Ebury Rise.
Cub Leader Rachel Setchell was delighted by the turn out and reminded the youngsters that they should remember where their saplings were planted so that they can watch them grow during their lifetime.
The saplings were donated after the Group took part in the Sainsbury's Activekids voucher scheme during the spring. Over £100 of equipment was purchased after Group supporters collected the vouchers.
Sainsbury's local PR ambassador Leanne Mares joined the planting ceremony on Saturday and acted as as a verifier on behalf of the Guinness World Record attempt.
The youngsters will be looking to see if they took part in a successful record attempt which should be confirmed by Xmas.
