BEAVERS, Cubs and Scouts from KD8 St John’s clinched a hat-trick of wins in the finals of each section of Sunday’s annual five-a-side football tournament.
For the second year running mum Heather Hunter’s Scout team snatched victory from yet another KD8 team to win 2-1 in a close-fought final.
It was another all KD8 final in the Cubs competition, with Mark Simpson’s team finishing the victors 4-1 after extra time, thanks to a hat-trick of goals from Sam Beadsworth and one from Oliver Tonks.
With coaching from dad Mark Simpson, KD8 Beavers secured a 2-1 win against KD1 Sea Scouts in a nail-biting final.
Harriers midfielder Dean Bennett presented the finalists’ medals and at the end of the competition at Habberley Field.
