At the end of August Scouts from 15th Kidderminster Scout Group (Habberley) successfully completed this strenuous Challenge.
They spent two full days in the Brecon Beacons climbing Fan Frynych 629m on a ten mile walk, staying overnight at the Brecon Youth Hostel ,cooking meals for the party of 16 and then climbing the highest mountain in the Brecons Pen y Fan 886m on the second day .The mixed party of scouts did much of the map reading and walked really well and were a credit to their Troop and to themselves.
Thanks go to their Leaders and young Leader Ryan and to a parent Sue Coleman who supported the Expedition throughout and ferried the scouts around as well as acting as leaders on the hills. In all a very successful Challenge. Mike Thompson Hill Walking Adviser Kidderminster & District Scouts.
