Day service for adults with special needs to open in Bewdley
7:30am Wednesday 23rd January 2013 in A-B
A COMMUNITY service is to be launched in Bewdley to provide support and opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and special needs.
Reach Community Service will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.15am to 3.15pm from February 13.
It will be based at Bewdley Cricket Club, in Lower Park, and will provide day activities including arts and craft, baking, sports and day trips.
Alison Coley-Smith and Frank Thompson will be running the service who both have experience and qualifications in working with adults with learning disabilities.
Miss Coley-Smith said: “We are very passionate, motivated and committed to delivering our new and exciting day service. We have a fabulous, new location being based at the cricket club in the beautiful Georgian town of Bewdley.
“We aim to provide a healthy, safe environment, offering access to a wide range of materials and facilities. We also offer skills for life activities including cookery, computer sessions, travel training and shopping skills.”
Reach also aims to support individuals and ensure they have facilities, opportunities and attractions that are available within Wyre Forest.
People who use the service will have the opportunity to meet new people and have fun.
