March is usually the month when spring arrives so it is nice to get outside and enjoy the fresh new growth of nature.

Spring bulbs would benefit now with a solution of liquid feed put on the soil around them but remember don`t cut down the leaves when the flowers have faded as these will be producing nutrients to replenish bulbs for next year’s display. The AGM took place at a new venue and also on a different night which proved a popular choice.

Afterwards we had a gardener’s question time with the two Dereks and at the end of a night after some friendly banter we hope that we all left with a bit more knowledge and advice. At the Annual Inter society Quiz hosted by Kidderminster, Meg Clay, Heather Flack and Judy Knight representing Bewdley came second. The programme for 2014 which private visits to local gardens, demonstrations and ideas for summer baskets and containers, cooking using home grown vegetables with Darren Bale of the Hop Pole. The next meeting is “An evening with Reg Moule” on March 17 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. Admission is £2. Non members, £1.50. members. To include refreshments.
