Sally Taylor was our demonstrator for the June meeting with her title “Here comes Summer”.
Sally`s first design “Schools out for Summer” included wooden rulers with a variety of red and burgundy flowers.
Foam balls covered in pink sisal depicted ice cream in cones was her next creation.
Variegated cream and green foliage, cream flowers for vanilla and green carnations for pistachio ice cream really did look good enough to eat.
Next came a visit to a summer garden including trellis, large sunflowers and not forgetting the vegetable patch including several ornamental cabbages.
We were then off for a picnic with a basket full of goodies including stocks, gerberas and cappuccino roses.
To the Caribbean we flew next to for a bit of snorkelling to view what’s under the sea.Small pink and cream variegated anthuriums coloured fish etc really did bring the sea to life.
The last design was a vintage summer wedding, with delphiniums, roses peonies truly wonderful delicate colours for a summer wedding.
Although it was a cold, wet and windy night outside the exhibits really did make us feel that summer is just around the corner.
