Flooding, missing road signs and overgrown vegetations were among the issues discussed at the meeting in the newly-refurbished Walshes Community Centre.
There was a good attendance of residents from Areley Kings along with local councillors and the new Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The revised formats for the policing of Stourport (including Areley Kings) and the PACT meeting process for both localities were outlined by PC Jon Harris.
Priorities from the previous meeting were briefly reviewed; flooding just off Abberley Avenue by the old school buildings; ongoing issues with parking and traffic speeding on Princess Way, Areley Common and Abberley Avenue, and overgrown vegetation on Betty Dawes Hill.
Several new issues were brought forward. The problem with crossing the road from the bus stop by the Crematorium, overgrown vegetation on Windmill Bank, missing ‘Slow’ signs on Hermitage Way and the flooding around Abberley Avenue by the old school were all raised as concerns.
Feedback on the progress on these latest issues will be given during the next meeting on January 23 at 7pm at St Bartholemew’s School on Princess Way. There will also be a PACT meeting in Stourport at the Lickhill Community Centre on Saturday, December 14.
