A large gathering of members and friends attended the meeting to hear about the interesting lives of two members, Margaret Shaddock , “Shad”, and Mollie Long.

“Shad’s” 90th birthday was celebrated with a special cake made by Patsy Anderson, the President, and an article “Margaret Shaddock, an Inspirational Woman”. written and read by Margaret Cook.

talked about her family and their long association with Areley Kings. “ Mollie Long, who has lived in 10 countries in Africa, Asia, West Indies and Central America was interviewed by Mary Wehner. Members were intrigued to hear of Mollie’s experiences.

Patsy Anderson, the President, spoke of the enjoyable tea party held for Muriel Farrer, a long standing member, who has since moved to be with her family in Cheshire. Best wishes were sent to her.

The next meeting is at 7.30pm on July 14 at Areley Kings Village Hall. The speaker, Ed Shore, will speak on living in Arizona and Central America.
