SINGER Scott Matthews and other artists on the Arleyfest line up met staff and students from a school that hopes to benefit from the proceeds of the music festival.

Scott was joined by Bewdley bands Naked Remedy and The Shaking Trees and singer/songwriter Jen Robins, who met head teacher Ian Smith, deputy head Laura Cross and pupils of Upper Arley Church of England Primary School.

Profits made from the weekend-long live music event in June will go towards refurbishing Arley Village Hall, which the school uses for pe lessons and assembly.

Mr Smith said: “At the moment we have no adequate facilities for teaching the children gymnastics. It would make such a huge difference to the school to have the hall rebuilt. I’d to thank everyone involved in organising Arleyfest.”

Headlining the event will be top-ten chart singer Seth Lakeman and other artists will include Frank from the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, 6 Day Riot, Cantaloop, Cowbell and Blues Boy Dan.

The festival will run from Friday, June 10 until Sunday, June 12, on Arley Community Sports Field, where camping will be available. Gates open at 6:30pm on Friday, with camping from 4pm. For more information visit arleyfest.co.uk
