Robin Pearce, from World's End Nursery, at Moseley Road, Hallow, was the speaker at the latest meeting.
Running the business with his wife Kristina, they grow herbaceous perennials, ferns and frasses at the nursery and Robin lectures as well as going to specialist plant sales, Pershore College and Spetchley Park Gardens.
He showed slides of his favourite flowers taken at Webbs of Wychbold, R H Wisley, Picton and Honeybrook Cottage. He mentioned flowers that he likes to grow for colour and showed slides of acteas, Japanese anemones, asters, michaelmas daisies, chrysanthemums, verbenas, helianthus, red hot pokers, crocosmias, dahlias, heleniums, rudbeckias andsSedums.
The Harvest Supper was given a new theme for Halloween as members used witches and warlocks from their floral art classes and masks in the section for children.
The tables sparkled with orange lametta foil, black and orange serviettes, dishes with lovely cyclamen plants, ghosts, skulls, skeletons, black bats, witches and spider webs.
The committee would like to thank everyone for bringing more than 50 donations for the raffle. Members welcomed back the staff from the Clockhouse, Tenbury Wells who served up a wonderful carvery and great desserts.
The after-dinner entertainment was provided by Paul Levent ,solo artiste and slick comedian. the highlight of the evening was when he introduced his two puppets, Syd and Gladys, and presented some magic moments as a talented ventriloquist. It was a truly great evening.
On Wednesday, December 12, the group will have a quiz followed by an American Supper.
