The Shrinkin’ Violets entertained members and guests at December’s meeting with music, sketches, songs and poems.
At January’s meeting, speaker Mary Coleman enlightened the audience with a talk and demonstration on bobbin lace making. She spoke about the history of the craft and she passed round some of her beautiful work which included brooches, cuffs and collars as well as hangings and other decorative items.
There was also news of a trip to see Les Misérables at the cinema in Worcester, various skittles matches, the quiz in February and the monthly lunch club. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 6 at 7.30pm at Astley and Dunley Village Hall when Brian Draper will be giving a talk entitled ‘What is a River?’
